About the Opportunity:

Joint Enterprise Technologies is seeking a qualified TS SCI cleared Tier III Network Engineer, to support an enterprise wide network for our customer based in Tampa, FL. You will be responsible for the operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting of all networks. 

Provides installation, maintenance and troubleshooting support of voice, video, and/or data communications networks.

  1. Monitors and responds to hardware and software problems utilizing a variety of hardware and software testing tools and techniques.
  2. Installs and configures network hardware and software.
  3. Provides network troubleshooting and support.
  4. Provides technical support and training to end-users.
  5. Administers network security.
  6. Backs up file server data/disks.
  7. Provides complex server maintenance.
  8. Sets up new users and deletes old users from the network.
  9. May provide guidance and work leadership to less-experienced technicians.
  10. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.
  11. Participates in special projects as required.
  • Responsible for the operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting of all networks within ECS responsibilities using PVP, PVC, SPVC, OSPF, BGP, and MPLS networking protocols.
  • Works with the GNOC network technicians to provide "touch maintenance" as required to restore outages and equipment faults
  • Maintenance includes installing and configuring network, communications, and encryption devices; providing preventative maintenance to inspect, clean, and repair equipment before a mechanical failure of the device occurs
  • Responsible to perform network diagnostics and assessments to determine fault isolation and execute corrective actions on a real-time basis.
  • Knowledge of cryptographic equipment and encryption management software.
  • Provide guidance, technical support, and training to Tier I and II level personnel.
  • Interface with senior contractor staff to provide technical guidance on network installations, configuration management, and solutions.
  • Implements engineering solutions ensuring effective and efficient network operations.
  • Drafting documentation of all circuit information; equipment and cabinet/rack elevations • Perform equipment upgrade actions to improve or enhance equipment operations
  • Repairing or coordinating "in warranty" service for covered equipment
  • Repairing, replacing, removing, upgrading, testing and/or coordinating fix actions for "out of warranty" equipment
  • Coordinate with DISA and other Telecommunications Service Providers regarding fault isolations, circuit installations, and activations
  • Must understand difference between customer and supervisor, and how to deal with tasks that come from the customer
  • Must use the customer ticketing system to track all work performed
  • Deployments are a possibility, so candidate must be willing to deploy for a 4-month rotation
  • Travel is required. Candidates will be required to travel OCONUS on a rotational basis to cover sites in Southwest Asia
  • Submit After Action Reports (AAR) as warranted and provide customer briefings on operational issues.
  • Must display a vision consistent with supporting ECS Network Operations' Performance Based (PBS) Goals and Objectives
  • Must be capable of developing plans and procedures consistent with PBS success.
  • Self-starter. Ability to take the initiative to get the mission done with minimal supervision.
  • Must have a Security +CE Certification

Desirable Skills/Requirements:

  • Solid Customer Support Skills in a high visibility environment.
  • Ability to work independently within a Team Concept Able to multitask in a stressful environment.
  • Technical Skills commensurate with a GNOC Tier III qualified technician.
  • Understanding of Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) principles at a foundation level.
  • Prior experience tracking and troubleshooting network outages utilizing Event/Incident tracking software.
  • Duties may require working non-standard shifts in multiple work centers.

The successful candidate will have extensive knowledge in layer 2 and layer 3 networking, utilizing Juniper, and Cisco hardware; and all types of IP routing utilizing routing protocols such as OSPF, EIGRP and BGP. Candidate must have a strong background with SNMP. The candidate must have experience integrating, installing and troubleshooting global enterprise networks, to include QOS implementation on IP networks. Familiar with industry-standard data, voice, and video protocol formats and algorithms.

  • This is a day shift position. This responsible role may require you work a non standard shift as needed.

Minimum Experience: 

A minimum of 2 years of relevant technical experience in the administration of networked desktop and server systems.

Minimum Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline is required. An additional 4 years of experience can be substituted for this degree.

  • Security+ CE required

  • CCNA (desired)
  • Network + (desired)
  • ITIL Foundations (desired)

Required Clearance: 
An active TS SCI clearance is required. Willingness to obtain a CI Polygraph.
