About the Opportunity:

Joint Enterprise Technologies is seeking a qualified TS/SCI cleared Tier I Network Technician for the mid-shift to provide installation; maintenance and troubleshooting support of voice; data; and/or video communications networks. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing 1st level resolution and customer support related enterprise networks and infrastructure this data traverses. The candidate will also be responsible to provide 1st level monitoring and resolution for all customer managed networks. Candidate must be able to accurately document; using customer outage tracking software; network and/or VTC outages is critical. The main tools utilized in the Global Network Operations Center include: VC Wizard; Putty; HPNA. HP NNMi; SharePoint; IBM; Tivoli; Cisco IOS; Support Web Incident Tracking System; and various network monitoring/troubleshooting
tools.

Required Clearance: 

  • An active Department of Defense TS/SCI security clearance is required.
  • Willingness to submit to and pass a Counter Intelligence (CI) Polygraph.

  • Colorado Springs, CO 

Skill Requirements:

Provides installation, maintenance and troubleshooting support of voice, video, and/or data communications networks.

  • Analyzes user’s requirements, concept of operations documents, and high level system architectures to develop network requirements specifications
  • Guides users in formulating requirements, advises alternative approaches, and conducts feasibility studies
  • Analyzes network requirements and capacity and leads design and development activities
  • Provides technical leadership for the integration of network requirements, design, and technology
  • Incorporates new network plans, designs and systems into ongoing operations
  • Develops network architecture and1 network design documentation
  • Guides network development and implementation planning through assessment or preparation of network engineering management plans and network integration and test plans
  • Design and perform integration of new technologies into local and wide area networks
  • Provide advanced troubleshooting and problem resolution of complex network problems
  • Manage the transition and migration of networks and development of network addressing schemes
  • Interacts with the Government regarding Network Engineering technical considerations and for associated problems, issues or conflicts
  • Ultimate responsibility for the technical integrity of work performed and deliverables associated with the Network Engineering area of responsibility
  • Communicates with other program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives
  • Knowledge of Video Teleconferencing (VTC)
  • Prior experience tracking and troubleshooting network outages
  • Must be familiar with Cisco and Juniper routers and switches and Crypto devices (FASTLANES/Taclanes)

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in network administration and support.
  • Working knowledge of Hierarchical Network design and Multi-layer network design for troubleshooting.
  • Working knowledge of desktop operating systems and applications for troubleshooting.
  • Some knowledge of Cisco Voice and Conferencing technologies preferred.
  • Working experience with trouble ticketing systems like Siebel, Remedy, or ServiceNow.
  • Knowledge of Splunk, Wireshark, HPNA, HP NNMi, or Netscout is useful, but not mandatory.

Minimum Experience: 

  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant technical experience in the administration of networked desktop and server systems.

Required Education:

  • HS/GED + 6 years experience
  • Associates Degree + 4 years experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree + 2 years experience
  • Master’s Degree + 0 years experience

Substitute for Educational Requirement:

  • An additional 4 years of experience can be substituted for the Bachelors degree.

Required Certifications: 

  • Security+ CE or CCNA Security required

Desired Certifications: 

  • CCENT, CCNA or JNCIA (desired)
  • Network + (desired)
  • ITIL Foundations (desired)
